A few days ago, in Vaudreching in Moselle, a septuagenarian discovered her dead cat, strangled by a snare trap.
Other devices of the same type, a noose that closes over the animal's throat, were found near the crime scene, reports Le Républicain Lorrain.
In Vaudreching, the mayor recognizes that this is not an isolated act: another cat has already been injured by lead shot and two others were saved after ingesting poison.
The owner of the dead cat filed a complaint with the Boulay-Moselle gendarmerie.
An investigation is open.
