Surprised to meet two young people who were walking with a golf club in the middle of the street, a passer-by alerted the police on Friday evening in Rennes.

After proceeding to their arrest at Place Saint-Germain, the officers then searched the two individuals.

The 18-year-old was carrying a butcher's leaf and a knife.

The second, aged 19, tried to get rid of a knife in the sight of the police.

He was also in possession of a tear gas canister.

During their custody, the two young people explained that they felt in danger and wanted to defend themselves.

A week earlier, the youngest had indeed been arrested on a stolen scooter.

Serving young people in his neighborhood, the two-wheeler had been seized.

Released, the two individuals, who are already known to the courts, will soon be summoned to court.

While awaiting the hearing, they were placed under judicial supervision.
