According to the press secretary of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, Irina Sofinskaya, the court received a petition from the investigation to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia against Serebryansky.

“By a court decision, the accused was arrested for two months from the moment of his arrest in Russia or from the moment of extradition to the territory of Russia,” she said.

According to the press secretary, Serebryansky is charged under Part 2 of Art.

238 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers and entail, by negligence, the infliction of grievous bodily harm or death of a person").

In August, investigators detained the chief physician of a hospital in Vladikavkaz, where nine patients died as a result of an oxygen pipeline accident.
