The first municipal council following the defeat of Eric Piolle in the environmentalist primary was animated for the mayor of Grenoble on Monday.

He was heckled by the opposition, but also by employees accusing him of questioning their social gains.

Lack of consultation, insecurity, concreteization and above all "abandonment of the city" during the campaign of recent months to try to obtain the EELV nomination: the socialist Olivier Noblecourt and Alain Carignon (right) opened the meeting with a barrage of pikes .

"Our city, like a headless duck, was not ruled during this long parenthesis," said Olivier Noblecourt.

"Apart from incessant efforts to try to exist in the media in postures and controversies, this almost first quarter of the mandate has not been marked by any significant decision, no major new action", he criticized .

“Are you finally going to devote yourself to your local mandate?

"

Alain Carignon also attacked what he called "disinterest in the city". “Will you, yes or no, finally devote yourself to the local mandate for which you were elected or will you continue to abandon Grenoble to turn to other ambitions, national, parliamentarians? », Asked the former mayor of the city (from 1983 to 1995). Eric Piolle, who was easily re-elected last year, brushed aside these “personal attacks”. "You continue to pull the territory down as you have been doing for more than forty years," he replied to Alain Carignon. Meanwhile, Grenoble is moving forward without you and that's fine, and it will continue. "

The council meeting was also disrupted for a long time by a group of municipal employees angry at the law transforming the territorial public service, which changes their working time, the closure of a staff restaurant and the health pass.

About thirty of them, gathered outside the council chamber, sang slogans and knocked on doors and glass partitions for more than an hour, before being briefly invited inside, the time to present their grievances, during an interruption of the session.
