On 28 September, the Norrbotten Region announces that another 26 people have been confirmed to have covid-19 disease, which means that a total of
27,478
people have been found to be infected in Norrbotten.
Today, six people with covid-19 are cared for in hospitals in the county, of which one person is on C-IVA.
"Continue to live restrictively"
A total of 281 people have died since the beginning of the corona outbreak.
- Unfortunately, there have been several deaths in the county during weeks 37-38.
The majority of these in connection with an outbreak in Överkalix, writes the infection control doctor Anders Nystedt in the weekly report.
High infection rates in Pajala
The outbreak in Överkalix, where the spread of infection was greatest at week 35-36, now seems to have gone out.
Instead, Pajala and Piteå are responsible for the largest cluster outbreaks in the county.
- In Pajala, there have been high infection rates during September.
The majority are schoolchildren and their parents.
There are also cluster outbreaks in Piteå municipality.
Pajala (46%) and Piteå (22%) together account for 68% of the county's cases, writes Anders Nystedt.
So many have been vaccinated
Up to and including week 37, 185,823 people (88 percent) received one dose of covid-19 vaccine and 169,799 people (80.4 percent) received two doses.
In the weekly report, all municipalities also report that more than 80 percent of the target groups have started a vaccination.
Some municipalities also report that in the age group 16-17 years, less than 50 percent have started a vaccination, while other municipalities have already reached a level above 75 percent.
