It was on Sunday afternoon that an elderly man is believed to have collided with a stationary electric scooter of the Voi brand on a cycle path in Västerås.

The man, who was in his 75s, was seriously injured and died later in the evening from his injuries.

Eric André says that they at Voi do not yet know much about the accident, but that they had contact with the police during the day.

- We want to give them the information we can to help them provide more clarity, he says in Monday's Aktuellt.

Eric André believes that they have a certain responsibility for how the electric scooters are parked, but that it is also a shared responsibility.

- It is something that is definitely a challenge for us and something we work hard on internally.

But we also know that it is a shared responsibility, between us operators, legislators and users.

"Must solve the challenge"

He emphasizes that the company maintains a dialogue with each municipality in which they have their electric scooters, in order to be able to develop in the best way.

- We work with each municipality to find local solutions and to improve parking, says Eric André.

Will we ever get to a point where electric scooters are ridden and parked in order?

- I absolutely think so.

We see that the industry has made great progress.

We must also be reminded that this is a new industry.

We at Voi have several million users every year, and we know that we must solve the challenge of how we share vehicles in Sweden.

The police are investigating the incident as causing another person's death.

At present, there is no suspect.
