US Treasury ordered its subsidiary Schlumberger to pay $ 1.4 million for violation of sanctions against Russia

"The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury announced that it has reached an agreement for $ 1,423,766 with ... Cameron International," the US Treasury said in a statement.

It is noted that the subsidiary of Schlumberger has supplied oil and gas equipment for the development of the Arctic offshore project of Gazprom. 

As stated in the US Treasury, this was a violation of the sanctions that were previously imposed on Russia.

In addition, Cameron could face civil liability for breaches of restrictions.

Earlier, members of the US House of Representatives Rules Committee approved an amendment to the defense budget for the next fiscal year, which recommends the country's administration to consider the possibility of sanctions against Russian businessmen, journalists and politicians.
