According to him, military threats from the United States and South Korea are constantly growing, and the states themselves are trying to upset the balance of power on the Korean Peninsula by deploying new weapons.

The diplomat said that Pyongyang would not like to use powerful offensive weapons, which, according to him, are part of the North Korean containment system.

Earlier, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and his South Korean counterpart Jung Ui Young held a trilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in New York, during which they discussed the problem of denuclearization of the DPRK.
