Since Växjö became a city with electric scooters, the municipality has received several cases in the matter.

The rhetoric from the municipality has been harsh, and the reactions from large parts of the public as well.

The municipality has also stated that incorrectly parked electric kicks may be disposed of and later scrapped, if the company does not collect them.

- Electric scooters have already become a quick choice in our system, Henrik Stenmalm at contact center Växjö.

Did not get help

But when Juan Dieguez called to report the incorrectly parked electric scooter, no speed dial was pressed for forwarding to the right authority, and he was not helped to make a report immediately.

- Why have they not been informed about who should be involved in removing bicycles, Juan Dieguez asks himself.

A matter of principle

When SVT themselves call the municipal exchange to investigate the matter, no speed dial button is pressed either.

Instead, we are directed to contact the police, or to move on electric kicks that stand in the way.

Traffic planning manager Per-Olof Löfberg is surprised when we inform him about the conversation.

- It should work.

They have been instructed about this at the contact center, they should contact me or an administrator, he says.

After a report has been made, the municipality must notify its parking guard company.

At present, the municipality has taken care of 12-13 electric scooters, according to Per-Olof Löfberg.

For Juan Dieguez, it is a matter of principle to turn to the municipality on the issue.

- We are on municipal land, it is the municipality that owns the land and then it is the municipality that is responsible, says Juan Dieguez.
