The Social Democrats in the health and medical care committee are worried about the extensive staff turnover at the emergency department at Blekinge Hospital.

As SVT Nyheter Blekinge previously reported, the staff have been given more tasks in that they will be responsible for the emergency department's new telephone line, and then expressed a concern about increased workload for an already hard-pressed work group.

The Social Democrats are now demanding an analysis of the situation at the emergency clinic and have submitted a so-called initiative case where they give the director of health care Kjell Ivarsson the task of coming up with a written analysis to the board as soon as possible with what measures have been taken and planned for the clinic.

- It is extremely important that we receive a report on the situation and what it means for quality, availability, patient safety but also for the working environment for staff, says the committee's second vice chairman Markus Alexandersson (S) in a press release.
