He added in a speech he delivered yesterday, during the opening of the tenth session of the International Forum for Government Communication, organized by the International Government Communication Center of the Sharjah Government Media Office, at the Expo Center Sharjah, over two days, under the slogan “Lessons of the Past, Aspirations for the Future”, that “building Man is not achieved by providing material conditions for living only, but by instilling noble thought and refining the mind and conscience,” noting that “the Emirate of Sharjah, according to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who laid the foundations of the emirate’s development project, and the status of culture In a position of leadership for this project, and the consolidation of a social and institutional structure, achieving a balance between physical development and intellectual and emotional development.”

In his speech during the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the guest of honor of the forum, said: “We live in one world despite all the scourges that humanity has faced.

This fact is clearly embodied in the progress our world is experiencing today in various fields, and in light of economic, financial and media globalization that imposed the intertwining of world interests and the overlapping of its various spaces until it became one world.

He added that the biggest challenge facing the world today is managing the ongoing transformations in the existing international system with the aim of formulating a new international system and restructuring it to reflect the existing international balances of power, and to accommodate global changes at all levels, in a way that responds to the aspirations of the countries of the world in creating a just international system that provides a strategic environment. Countries can adapt their policies to preserve their own interests, and create a world of security and stability.

On the impact of the global health crisis on the status and role of government communication, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said: “We have all seen what the (Covid-19) experience revealed in the past two years of the impact of successful government communication on the performance of governments in a time of crisis. Governments that enjoy open channels with their people, and mutual trust between them and the public, have been able to manage the crisis better, read the reality more accurately, and carry out their duty to direct, control and raise awareness in a faster and more efficient manner.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, stressed that the goals of effective government communication cannot be achieved without the private media being a tributary to it and supporting it in conveying its message. Government communication and its constructive role is a national responsibility to defend the constants and capabilities of any society, and this cannot be achieved without the existence of a charter governing the open space, and regulating what it contains of news and information mixed with the wheat and the fat, and the recipient became confused who to believe.

The Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, Tariq Saeed Alai, indicated that the current session of the forum is being held after a global health crisis that caused severe changes in the form of life we ​​are accustomed to, and placed more than four billion people around the world in home quarantine at the end of last year, and changed work and education patterns. And the form of entertainment, the content industry, and the nature of the relationship between individuals, institutions and societies, stressing that these facts put government communication in front of fundamental questions posed by the platform of the International Forum for Government Communication.

He stressed the importance of investing various live experiments in order to reach the best results.

The opening ceremony included the screening of a visual film that reflects the importance of government communication and its role in conveying images and various events in feelings of joy, sadness and solidarity, and other events that affected the whole world.
