In Japan, a man poured hot water on a 3-year-old boy and killed him from full-body burns.

According to foreign media such as the Asahi Shimbun on the 24th, 23-year-old Takumi Matsuhara from Osaka was arrested on charges of pouring hot water on Arito Nimura, the 3-year-old son of a woman he was living with, and sent to the prosecution on the same day.

It is known that Matsuhara called 911 directly after committing a crime while his girlfriend was not at home in an apartment in Setsushi, Osaka on the 31st of last month, saying "the child is unconscious."

Nimura, who had collapsed naked, was transported to the hospital by paramedics, but eventually died of shock from full-body burns.

Experts analyzed that Nimura's burns were caused by being immersed in hot water up to 75 degrees Celsius for more than five minutes.

After Nimura's death, Matsuhara said, "I was playing a game of raising the water temperature in the shower. I raised the temperature from 38 degrees to 60 degrees."

He made the same statement during the police investigation, arguing that he did not intentionally pour hot water.

Police are investigating the details of the incident, as a woman who is Nimura's mother and Matsuhara's girlfriend stated that "Matsuhara hit Nimura before the incident."
