September 26, 2021 Laura Ziliani was stunned by drugs. But not killed by the benzodiazepine compound found in her body. The investigator is convinced that the former Brescia vigilante was suffocated with a pillow while she was sleeping under the effect of anxiolytics "potentially capable of compromising her defense capabilities". Now it is necessary to see what elements on the corpse, 140 days after death, can still be found to support the thesis of non-violent suffocation.

In the meantime, the guarantee interrogations of Mirto Milani, Silvia and Paola Zani, arrested last Friday on suspicion of killing the mother of the girls Laura Ziliani, are scheduled for Tuesday. Bresciaoggi and the Brescia edition of Corriere della Sera report it. The three will appear before the investigating judge Alessandra Sabatucci, who signed the precautionary custody order at the request of the prosecutor Caty Bressanelli. At the moment the girls are in the Brescia prison of Verziano, while Mirto is in the other prison in Brescia, Canton Mombello. All three closed in silence, as they remained silent when the carabinieri arrested them on Friday morning.

In the village many people are incredulous about what happened to Ziliani

However, Mirto had spoken to the parish priest of Roncole, the Bergamo town where he lives, when he was investigated. "He told me that the investigators were ruining his life" says Don Andrea. The inhabitants of Temù prefer not to speak, a town in Valcamonica where Laura Ziliani was supervised and returned every weekend and where she was killed. Here, just over a thousand residents, everyone knew her and her daughters: they have seen them grow up and are in shock. It is the mayor Giuseppe Pasina who exposes himself, as he has done several times in recent weeks: "I said it from the beginning: the two girls are strange, very closed and isolated, few friends".

Gip: "Money is the motive"

Relieved that there has been a turning point in the investigation, he adds that "everyone in the village suspected it was a question of money, even if from the outside you can never tell what is going on inside the house". And money is the motive identified by the Brescia investigating judge Alessandra Sabatucci, who in the order describes three young people very interested in Laura's possessions. Silvia and Paola, respectively employed in an RSA and student of Economics, 18 days after the death of their mother were pleased with the assets they would inherit. In a wiretap, the eldest said to the youngest: "900 euros, too cool, only with those we pay the advance for a new car and maybe there is even a holiday". Refers to a rent to be collected, one of several apartments which they co-owned with their mother.

Interceptions that "more than any other element, showed the absence of any disturbance in the sisters about the fate of the mother" according to the judge who signed the arrests. Mirto was also very determined in managing the properties, so much so that the same day Laura disappeared, he had his parents come from Bergamo to clean and make some repairs and, after two weeks, he called the tenants to increase the rents and solicit arrears, trying to get them deposited into the sisters' bank account.

Lucia, the disabled sister of Paola and Silvia, who lived with her mother in Brescia, the last to see her before leaving for Temù, immediately had doubts and told investigators that the sisters "often quarreled with their mother. for the bed and breakfast issue ". The Zani's maternal grandmother, Marisa, also told the investigators of a quarrel that Laura and Mirto had had about the cost of a renovation. "My daughter was thrilled that he was interested in things that didn't concern him. Those three boys were too attached to money." Milani is referred to as the manipulator of the sisters, "who failing for character reasons to oppose the maternal will, they preferred to suppress the parent - writes the investigating judge - rather than openly disagree with her about the management of the substantial family assets ".
