  Analysis by the Meteorological Department indicated that the earthquake belonged to a subduction zone earthquake and was the largest subduction zone earthquake in the area since 1973.

At present, the number of aftershocks is not large, but it cannot be ruled out that there will be earthquakes of magnitude 3 to 4 on the Richter scale in the next two days.
