Kwak Byung-chae (32), son of Kwak Sang-do, a member of the People's Power, said in a statement that he received 2.8 billion won in real money from Hwacheon Daeyu, who is suspected of preferential treatment for the Daejang-dong development project.

In a statement, Kwak said, "In June 2020, we signed a 500 million won performance-pay contract, including severance pay, and before leaving the company in March 2021, the performance-related pay contract was changed to 5 billion won." "After withholding, about 2.8 billion won I received the won into my account around April 30, 2021."

Byeong-chae said, “It was not the amount promised when I joined the company.

Byeong-chae Kwak revealed that his father, Rep. Kwak, introduced Hwacheon Daeyu to him, who graduated from the Department of Industrial Design at Yonsei University's Wonju Campus in February 2015 and was pursuing a master's course in the Department of Global Sports Industry at Hanyang University.

He said, "My father said, 'Kim XX is in the real estate development business and is looking for people, so if you have an idea, check it out.'"

Mr. Kim is presumed to be Mr. Kim Man-bae, a former Money Today reporter and the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu. It is known that he and Kwak are close friends since he was a prosecutor and Kim Man-bae was a reporter.

Byeong-chae said, "I searched the company's basic information." "The real estate development project may or may not be successful, but since it has already been selected as the preferred bidder, I decided that the business could be a big hit."

He emphasized that he worked hard at Hwacheon Daeyu to the point where a red flag for his health in 2018 was on, and said, "I went to the company with the sole purpose of getting recognition from the company and the owner rather than investing in stocks or coins."

He compared it to the Netflix drama 'Squid Game', saying, "I'm just a 'word' in a squid game designed so carefully. I did.

He then asked, “Is the essence of the Daejang-dong incident a matter of design that made it possible to earn hundreds of billions of won, or is it a matter of an individual who worked hard in it?”

Byeong-chae said, "My father, Rep. Kwak, recently found out that he had received a bonus of 2.8 billion won. "Hwacheon Daeyu was widely reported in the media and asked how it happened, so I told him his salary and bonuses. I made a choice, I took responsibility, and I drew it.”
