In a report that the Cancer Foundation published in early August, Uppsala County was in 19th place out of 21 when it comes to how many women show up for cancer screenings.

Uppsala Municipality is now taking the example of the Blekinge region, which is best located in the country, by sending out extra reminders to the women who did not show up at the surveys.

- We learn lessons from the pandemic and if you get an extra call, more people will listen and come to the mammography, says Malin Sjöberg Högrell (L), chairman of the hospital board.

Collaborate with associations - to further increase the coverage rate

The Uppsala Region also plans to introduce communication campaigns and work more closely with the breast cancer association and other associations to reach more people.

- The idea is that we will do this next year to further increase the coverage rate, says Malin Sjöberg Högrell.
