According to the VnExpress newspaper, Phan Van Hoa was found guilty of "spreading serious, dangerous infectious diseases to others" by the court in the central coastal city of Phan Rang.



Hoa drove his truck on July 6 from Ho Chi Minh City, which has been the epicenter of the country's most devastating Covid wave since late April, to his hometown, Phan Rang, but failed to comply with the rule of filing a health declaration. and to isolate themselves for two weeks. Instead of going into quarantine, he drove to several places and attended the commemoration of a deceased, where he was in contact with dozens of people and lived a normal life until eight days later he developed a fever and sore throat and tested positive for coronavirus.



The authorities traced all his contacts during those days and identified four infected.

This led to the accusations against the truck driver when he recovered from his illness.

On September 7, a man was sentenced to five years in the south of the country for the same offense after breaking anti-virus laws and infecting eight people, one of whom died.
