The Ministry of Internal Affairs previously developed a bill aimed at strengthening control over the entry and stay of foreign citizens in the country, as well as establishing a number of migration rules and statuses for foreigners in accordance with the purposes of their visit to Russia.

"One of the goals of the development of the bill is to increase the level of security, including through the wider introduction of modern information technologies in the procedures for the provision of public services and the implementation of state control," TASS quotes the words of a representative of a law enforcement agency.

Earlier it was reported that in the first half of 2021, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs expelled about 8.6 thousand foreign citizens from the country.

During the same period, almost 100 thousand foreign citizens were banned from entering Russia on various grounds.
