The booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine has started in the United States from today (local time) on the 24th.

White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Giants said he was working closely with partners, including the governor, pharmacies, doctors and long-term care facilities, to ensure that Americans eligible for Boostershots were able to get them in more than 80,000 locations across the country.

Major drugstore chains such as CVS, Light Aid, and Walgreens announced that they would start administering the Pfizer vaccine booster shot from today.

Governors have also taken action.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said authorities were far behind in approval of booster shots, and announced that eligible residents could receive booster shots immediately.

Vermont says residents over 80 can register to get the booster shot first, and plans to expand eligibility to those over 65 next week.

The state of California has announced plans to deliver BoosterShots primarily through pharmacies and personal physicians.

Reopening of large vaccination centers is also included in the plan.
