Chen Xu said that at present, the work of the UN Human Rights Council is facing serious challenges, and the principles of universality, impartiality, objectivity, and non-selectivity are under impact.
Some countries turn a blind eye to their own human rights issues. For political purposes, they try to impose their own values on others under the pretext of human rights issues. Such actions seriously damage the sovereignty and independence of other countries, undermine international solidarity and cooperation, and promote and protect International efforts for human rights have caused lasting harm and should be opposed and resisted by the international community.
Chen Xu said that in order to promote the healthy development of the international human rights cause, all parties must abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, adhere to true multilateralism, jointly oppose power politics, and promote international fairness and justice.
All parties should adhere to sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, respect the human rights and development paths independently chosen by each country, and refrain from imposing their own values, social and political systems on others; they should adhere to dialogue and cooperation to achieve equality. Carry out dialogue and cooperation on the basis of mutual treatment and mutual respect, enhance mutual understanding, resolve differences, and carry out technical assistance and capacity building on the basis of the consent of the countries involved; oppose the use of human rights as a tool to suppress and rectify dissidents and serve their own political conspiracies Acts, oppose double standards, and abandon false information; attach equal importance to all types of human rights, and balance the promotion of civil political rights and economic, social, and cultural rights.
