The Swedish head of government was initially suspected of espionage, but is now suspected of gross unauthorized employment with secret information, and the crimes are said to have been committed between 2011 and 2015.
- The direct purpose is then not to go to foreign power, because then it is classified as espionage, it is on purpose that it must fail, says Runar Viksten to SVT News.
How the person got over the information also plays a big role when the prosecutor makes his assessment, for example, it could be information that has been entrusted to the person at work.
What could be the reason for the criminal classification being changed?
- I would think that it was because the prosecutor judged that it could not be proven that the direct purpose was that this would come to foreign power, Viksten says.
