The proposal, which has been in the Law Council and will now be passed on to the Riksdag, means that the youth reduction will be abolished for 18-20-year-olds for crimes with a minimum sentence of one year in prison.

Crimes such as robbery, aggravated assault, rape, aggravated extortion, aggravated drug offense and aggravated weapon crime will be covered.

- An 18-year-old who commits a robbery in the future will receive a double penalty with this change in the law.

It is a real increase in punishment, says Morgan Johansson.

450 million is allocated to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in connection with the increased penalties.

Today's press conference was also about spreading the strategy of Stop shooting and developing the defector business.

The proposals should be seen as follow-ups to the proposals in the budget that were presented on Monday, according to the Minister of Justice.
