24 September 2021 The incidence of Covid cases in Italy and the transmissibility index Rt continue to decline. In the period 1 - 14 September 2021, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 0.82 (range 0.81 - 0.82), below the epidemic threshold and down compared to the previous week when it was 0.85.

The incidence for the period 17-23 September dropped to 45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 54 last week. This is what emerges from the draft of the weekly monitoring on the Covid-19 epidemic under examination in the control room that will be illustrated today.

Also this week there are 4 Regions / Autonomous Provinces (PA) that are classified at moderate risk: Piedmont, PA Bolzano, PA Trento and Valle d'Aosta. The remaining 17 Regions / PPAA are classified as low risk. Last week the moderate risk regions were Abruzzo, Molise (which come out of the moderate risk classification), PA Bolzano and PA Trento. Sicily remains with values ​​from the yellow zone, even if it will be up to the control room and then eventually to Minister Speranza to decide on a possible "promotion" in white, in light of the trend of decline in admissions. As of 21 September, according to the decision-making indicators examined by the Control Room gathered this morning, the island still has 10.7% of intensive care units occupied (the threshold is 10%) and 17.3% of ordinary hospitalizations (the threshold is 15%). The Province of Bolzano, on the other hand, exceeds the threshold of intensive care (11.3%) but not that of ordinary hospitalizations (3.8%). On the contrary, Basilicata (15.4%) and Calabria (18.5%) are above the threshold for ordinary hospitalizations, but both have under 10% intensive care (respectively 4.8% and 7.7%). ). Italy that remains all white, therefore,with the exception of Sicily, on which, as mentioned, today's evaluation hangs, but in the light of the data it seems probable that he will remain in yellow for another week. 

The employment rate in intensive care of Covid patients in Italy is slightly decreasing: to 5.4 with a reduction in the number of hospitalized people from 554 (14/09/2021) to 516 (21/09 / 2021) compared to 6.1 in the past week.

The employment rate in medical areas nationwide, according to data as of 21 September, decreased slightly to 6.8% from 7.2.

The number of people hospitalized in these areas is slightly decreasing from 4,165 (14/09/2021) to 3,937 (21/09/2021).
