Perpetuity for both shooters.

The Haute-Garonne Assize Court delivered its verdict on Thursday evening in the case of the shooting that occurred on July 3, 2017 in the La Reynerie district in Toulouse.

That evening, around 9 p.m., two men, one of whom was concealed under a burqa, pulled a Kalashnikov out of a pram and opened fire.

The shooting killed Djamel Tahri, 27, target of the operation mounted against the backdrop of drug trafficking and war between rival gangs in two districts of Grand Mirail.

It also made a dozen injured, including residents who left this summer evening and collateral victims of this settling of scores.

Four accomplices also condemned

The two main defendants were Walid Derqaoui and Abdelkader Ramdani whom investigators identified as the shooters.

The first, who held Djamel Tahri responsible for the death of one of his brothers, was considered in the requisitions of the Advocate General as the “mastermind” of the case, the second as his “hired killer”.

Four other defendants were sentenced to eight to twenty-five years in prison, in particular for accommodating the shooters, providing them with weapons and logistical support.

Another was acquitted.

The seven men all claimed their innocence during the three weeks of the trial.

The lawyers for the two shooters tried to cast doubt on their participation.

In vain.
