Criminals in Helsingborg have lost just over SEK 4.6 million in recent days.

These include cars and other assets seized from people with debts to the bailiff and fines handed out.

- The basis of this is that we want to access criminals' financial assets from the perspective of these various authorities, says Helsingborg's police chief Karim Ottosson.

This is the second year in a row that several different authorities, under the leadership of the police, have carried out a joint three-day operation in Helsingborg.

Just over a year ago, the same thing was done - which then brought in about 6 million.

Legal obstacles

This year, eleven authorities participated.

One of the reasons for carrying out a joint government effort is that the powers of the various authorities vary and the opportunities for transparency in each other's work are limited.

- There are legally certain obstacles for us to exchange information, but through Klöver 2 we have increased the understanding of each other's competencies and opportunities to access the assets, says Karim Ottosson.

- It makes it easier in everyday life to get in touch with each other to solve problems.
