Ambassador to Germany gives honor to Senator Segre

Ambassador Viktor Elbling presented the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to Senator Liliana Segre this morning in the Sala Zuccari of Palazzo Giustiniani of the Senate. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier had awarded Liliana Segre the honor of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Großes Verdienstkreuz mit Stern) on 28 April 2020 for her particular commitment as a Holocaust survivor and active witness who works above all by coming into contact with young people in schools and universities. In light of the growing anti-Semitic tendencies and racist crimes, with this honor we also want to honor his extraordinary work against intolerance, anti-Semitism andincitement to hatred and violence.
