The cave, also known as "Well of hell", contained, despite popular belief, no demons.
However, the expedition team got a unique first look at the cave's floor and its rock formations.
Among other things, the group found pearl-like calcium salt formations in snakes and dead, fallen animals.
- We found strange things down there.
We also smelled strange odors, it was mysterious, says Salah Babhair, director general of the Mahra Authority for Geological Survey and Mineral Resources.
