It was a week ago that many Gävle residents noticed that rental electric scooters had been placed in the city.

Something that also came as a shock to Gävle municipality, Johan Larsson, unit manager at Gävle municipality told SVT Gävleborg then.

- We would have liked to have seen some form of foresight so that you can agree on guidelines and rules of procedure before the company establishes itself.

At the meeting, we at the municipality presented our view on the matter, says Johan Larsson, unit manager at Gävle municipality.

Continued investigation into the permit issue

The fact that, according to the police's national assessment, a permit is required for this type of activity is something the company does not agree with.

- We have now asked the company to contact the police to investigate the matter further and they promised the company that they would do, says Johan Larsson, unit manager at Gävle municipality.

What happens now?

-

Depending on what the police and the company come up with, we will need more meetings in the future.

The electric scooter issue is something we must continue to work on.

Gävle municipality has not planned any police report.

If it then turns out that it will be a lawsuit of the whole and that the decision will be that the company is subject to a permit, it will be another matter, says Johan Larsson, unit manager at Gävle municipality.
