Pay tax

If you rent out your private home for more than SEK 40,000 per year, you may have to pay tax, but only if you still earned more than SEK 40,000 after you have made deductions for, for example, waste collection and electricity billing.

VAT registration

If you rent out your home in a way that is similar to a hotel business, rent out a furnished home in your own name, rent it out for more than 112 days a year or if you market your rental at a daily and weekly price, you may need to register for VAT .

If you are several owners of the home, everyone must register.

Different rules for different homes

There are different rules if you rent out detached houses, condominiums or tenancies.
