The Municipal Police closed yesterday morning a clandestine hostel in Tetuán (Madrid) in which there was a plague of bedbugs that affected all the rooms.
The establishment is located at number 46 on Padre Rubio Street and
a total of 72 people who slept in the compound
and who had numerous insect bites
were
evicted
.
The establishment lacked a license to carry out the activity and was run by a Chinese citizen.
The police intervention has been carried out jointly with the Health inspectors
after a complaint made by a client
as a result of the numerous insects that were in the facilities.
In the hostel there were
12 shared rooms with up to six bunk beds
in some of the rooms.
All lacked ventilation.
Eight were at the top and four were in the basement of the premises.
The agents have discovered that
the owner of the premises requested a license for the establishment as a tourist apartment, which was denied
by the Madrid City Council.
The hostel, which was advertised on web pages with the claim of being two kilometers from La Castellana, lacked a registry book, emergency exits and there were no safety and hygiene measures against Covid.
