The death toll of climbers from the group that requested assistance in climbing Elbrus has reached five. This was announced by the head of the main department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kabardino-Balkaria Mikhail Nadezhin.
“Unfortunately, five people were found with no signs of life,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier it was reported about three dead and 14 rescued climbers on Elbrus.
In total, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the group consisted of 19 people, they were at an altitude of about 5.4 km.
