A somewhat special arrival took place this Wednesday at the Grévin museum in Paris.

Joining the 300 or so stars and figures in wax, Sophie la Girafe, a legendary children's toy, joined the famous collection.

For her 60th birthday, Sophie la Girafe makes her debut at # IncroyableGrévin.

The museum contacted Vulli, the company based in Rumilly (Haute-Savoie) which manufactures the toy, on the occasion of Sophie's 60th birthday in 2020, reports

France Bleu Pays de Savoie

.

Unlike the other statues in the Musée Grévin, the giraffe was not made of wax but of silicone, to best reproduce the original texture of the toy.

"Pouet pouet" and a hug

"We've been working on it for a year to reproduce the color, the gradation of the legs, the spots, the pink of the cheeks and of the mouth," Vulli's deputy general manager testified at the microphone of

France Bleu

.

It is soft and it is really an identical replica.

"

The statue arrived at the museum on Wednesday does not measure 18 cm like the original toy, but 1.70 m, "so that visitors can take it in their arms".

Bonus: when someone approaches her, Sophie will emit her famous “pouet pouet” typical of the toy.

It will be installed next to the statue of the Little Prince.
