On September 22, local time, thousands of rhino horns that had been seized by the government for decades in India were burned in Guwahati.
Some of these rhino horns came from rhinos that died of natural causes in the habitat, and some were confiscated from poachers.
In this way, the local government commemorates World Rhino Day and promotes the protection of endangered pachyderms. Officials say this is the largest stock of this type in the world.
