The 3rd dose of vaccine had become an issue for several weeks.
Since the White House announced in August that health authorities were standing by to launch a massive recall campaign early this week.
But in the meantime, scientists have been divided over the need for this extra dose.
A decision concerning only the Pfizer vaccine
Finally, after discussions between specialists, the 3rd dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be able to be administered to people over 65 who have had their two initial doses for at least 6 months.
People over 50 at risk are also concerned.
On the other hand, counselors are much more divided for those over 18 at risk and it will be up to these people to assess their risk-benefit ratio themselves.
On the other hand, the 3rd dose cannot be administered to people whose job exposes to the disease, which excludes teachers.
In fact, some people who have been able to count on a sympathetic pharmacist have already received their additional injection.
But the ruling only applies to those who have received the Pfizer vaccine.
For those who have been vaccinated with Moderna or Janssen, it will take a few more weeks.
