British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has finally admitted that he has six children, a question he has previously avoided in numerous interviews and press conferences.

In an interview with NBC's Today programme, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, an interviewer asked him if he had six children, and he said yes.

Johnson has previously stated repeatedly that he will not discuss his private life, and during the 2019 election campaign he said he would not talk about his children.

The number of children Johnson has has been a moot point in British politics for several years, after an English court issued an injunction preventing media organizations from talking about Johnson's daughter from an extramarital affair.

Johnson has four children with his ex-wife Marina Wheeler, one daughter from that extramarital affair, and a son with his wife, Carrie Johnson, whom he married earlier this year, his name is Wilfred.

Johnson told NBC that having a baby in 10 Downing Street was a wonderful experience, but it was a lot of work.

"But I absolutely love such an effort," he added.

"I kept changing a lot of diapers," he added.

In August, Carrie Johnson announced on Instagram that the couple were expecting a second child, revealing that she had suffered a miscarriage earlier in the year.

The former Tory communications director, who was due to arrive at Christmas this year, said she wanted to share personal news about her miscarriage in order to help others.

Wilfred was born, in April 2020, shortly after Johnson was admitted to hospital with symptoms so severe from "Covid-19" that he remained in the intensive care unit.

The couple said their son, Wilfred, was given the middle name of a doctor, in honor of him for his effort to save the prime minister.

It is unclear why Johnson has now decided to confirm the existence of a child he had previously avoided talking about!

Johnson has previously stated repeatedly that he will not discuss his private life, and during the 2019 election campaign, he said he would not talk about his children.
