The document lists the names of 35 Russians, including the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the CEC Ella Pamfilova and Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.

According to one of the authors of the amendment, Congressman Tom Malinovsky, the list includes people who may be involved in "human rights violations."

According to the document, the US President is invited to provide an opinion with detailed justification as to whether any of the listed persons meets the "criteria for imposing sanctions" within 180 days after the adoption of the law.

The list also includes the director of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, the director of the FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, and others.

The amendment was approved by the committee, but has not yet been considered by the full house of representatives, TASS specifies.

The document is to undergo consideration by the Congress, after which the amendment will also have a recommendatory character.

In August, US President Joe Biden signed a decree allowing sanctions on Russian energy export pipelines.
