According to him, Russia helped Ukraine from the first days of independence.
“If we talk about the state in which Ukraine found itself, if we talk about who is guilty, then, of course, first of all, such countries as the United States.
Who intervened in the affairs of Ukraine from the first days and set as their main goal - the separation of Ukraine from Russia.
It was they who guided Ukraine towards pursuing a Russophobic policy, supported the nationalists in Ukraine, ”Tsekov said.
He added that Russia has nothing to do with the negative situation in Ukraine.
“The United States and the countries of Europe, which formed anti-Russia from Ukraine, have something to do with this,” the senator concluded.
Earlier, the American Democrat Senator Jean Shahin, together with a group of colleagues, submitted to the US Congress a draft resolution, which refers to Moscow's "malicious activities" against Kiev.
In the draft resolution, the senators touch upon a number of significant events for Ukraine that have taken place in the country since 1990.
