President Moon Jae-in, who visited the United States, attended a ceremony to take over the remains of Korean War victims in Hawaii as his last schedule.

The remains of the South Korean army flew 15,000 kilometers and arrived in their homeland shortly after.

Among the unidentified remains that were sent to the Missing Persons Agency in Hawaii after the Korean War, 68 were determined to be Korean soldiers and 5 remains of US soldiers in Korea were returned to each other's homeland.

Two of the remains of the South Korean soldiers were identified as the late Kim Seok-ju and Jeong Hwan-jo.



It has been confirmed that the two privates, former US KATUSA Soldiers, were killed in the Battle of Jangjinho, which was considered the worst battle in the US military.



The great-granddaughter of the late Private Kim Seok-ju, who is currently a nursing officer, attended the take-over ceremony and accompanied her great-grandfather on the way home.



The remains of the late Privates Kim Seok-ju and Jeong Hwan-jo were in the presidential plane called 'Unit 1', and the unidentified 66 wards were


taken to their homeland by the Air Force transport plane that was used to take over the remains of the late General Hong Beom-do.




President Moon also congratulated the late Governors Kim Nodi and Ahn Jung-song, who took part in the independence movement in Hawaii and the Americas, with the Order of the National Founding Order.



President Moon, who proposed an 'end war declaration' for peace on the Korean Peninsula in his keynote address to the UN General Assembly the day before, emphasized the declaration of an end to the war again today (23rd).
