According to TASS, initially the negotiations were not planned in Lavrov's schedule.
The parties said that they are pleased to have the opportunity to negotiate.
Earlier, Lavrov and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a meeting during their stay in New York at the UN General Assembly.
