On September 22, local time, Australian Prime Minister Morrison stated that French President Macron would not answer his calls.

Morrison said in response to a reporter’s question, “There is no chance to talk. But we will wait patiently.”

On September 15, the United States and Australia reached a nuclear-powered submarine contract without notifying the French side, which caused Australia to cancel the submarine deal with France.

France expressed strong dissatisfaction with this and recalled its ambassadors to the United States and Australia.

Morrison called Macron to explain to him on the day of the incident, but to no avail.

He said that he will try to call again and will patiently rebuild relations with France.

However, on September 22, Macron had a telephone conversation with U.S. President Biden at the appointment, and the two sides agreed to hold a meeting in Europe at the end of October to reach a mutual understanding.

After the call between the two parties, Macron has decided to let the French ambassador to the United States return to Washington next week.
