Earlier this year, the Liberals' party board decided that they want to be part of a bourgeois government after the 2022 election, even though it requires the support of SD, something that Anders Rickman (L), former district chairman, has ideological concerns about.

- I have struggled with this choice of path and I have not understood where the red lines go in the party leadership and then maybe I am the wrong person in this place and then it is better that someone can lead the party who can defend this.

It is now a year until the election and the pressure on the party organization and chairman is increasing where they will explain and defend what is happening in Stockholm, he says.

Wants to pursue politics in Habo

Anders Rickman (L) is clear that he will continue to be a liberal and will be a member of the party.

He will also continue to be a group leader in Habo and pursue politics.

- We have had bourgeois rule there for 100 years without involving SD or other populists and we will not continue to do so either, he says.

Worries about the party leadership's statements

But do you understand the Liberals' choice of path and that they do not want to freeze parliamentary parties like SD?

- It can be good or bad.

It can be a good alternative for the voters, but when I look from my perspective, I do not care about what the voters think, but what I myself think and can stand for, says Anders Rickman (L).

The party leadership made the decision because they want to get their policy through, what do you think about that?

- I do not have concerns with the politics of the party but the statements that do not keep pace with the ideology we have.

I am interested in liberal politics that are neither right nor left but straight forward.

SD is a bigger concern than the Sausages can come up with, he says.
