A motorist from Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère) was checked on Tuesday by city police without being able to present his driving license.
And for good reason… The document had been withdrawn from him the day before during a road screening carried out by the same police service.

The offender's sister to the rescue
The 38-year-old was taken into police custody after the second check and then released.
His vehicle, a Citroën ZX, was seized and will be subsequently destroyed.
The Isérois will soon appear in court.
His car had been retained by the police on Monday after the first check.
The driver had come to pick him up shortly after with his sister, who had a valid driver's license.
She was therefore able to leave with the ZX.
When the second check came a few minutes later, the thirty-something had already taken the wheel despite his lack of a license.
He also did not hesitate to explain his administrative situation to the police.
