At the moment, the Russian authorities "have not made any decisions" on the lockdown, despite the increase in the numbers for COVID-19.

This was announced to reporters by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“At least at the federal level, at the level of the presidential administration, there are no discussions.

Of course, the government headquarters is closely monitoring the development of the situation, but mainly the heads of the regions are closely monitoring it.

Still, these special epidemiological powers continue to work, each region knows better, ”he said.

Speaking about the well-being of Vladimir Putin, who went into self-isolation last week, he noted that this situation did not affect the working activity of the president - it was just that “some personal contacts were minimized”.

“You see that, firstly, our numbers have gone up gradually, some isolated cases of the disease continue, and they continue in the press service, and in other departments.

So, of course, extra precautions won't hurt.

Moreover, I repeat once again, this in no way leads to a decrease in the activity of the president's work, ”the Kremlin official said.

On the eve of the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova reported that in 36 regions of Russia there is an intensive rise in the incidence of COVID-19.

At the same time, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova pointed out that the delta strain is 100% dominant in the capital.

Deputy Director for Clinical and Analytical Work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Professor Natalya Pshenichnaya in the RT stream "Letuchka" spoke about the characteristics of the delta strain.

“They said that it causes a more severe course of the disease, but then this was not confirmed ... In terms of severity, it is the same as the others,” she said.

According to the specialist, if earlier in people who had a severe course of COVID-19 disease, oxygen deprivation developed on the 10-14th day of illness, then with COVID-19 disease caused by the delta strain, shortness of breath and the need for oxygen therapy occur “where on the fifth or seventh day of illness. "

“That is, the symptoms develop more rapidly over time, and this is exactly what gave the first time such a reason to say that this infection is more severe.

No.

But it is more contagious, ”explained Pshenichnaya.
