This was reported in Zelensky's office.

“Our commitment to NATO membership, the principles and standards of the alliance are at the core of all guiding documents in the field of national security and defense,” said President Stoltenberg.

He also expressed hope that the NATO countries will determine for Ukraine a list of reforms and criteria for the transition "to the next stage of integration with the alliance."

“Speaking about the importance of joint efforts with the alliance to improve the level of security in the Black Sea region, the President stressed the importance of further increasing the presence of the fleets of NATO countries in the Black Sea, as well as the interaction of the Black Sea countries,” the press service of Zelensky said.

In late August, the Ukrainian president announced that he was in favor of NATO's presence in the Black Sea.

He also believes that Ukraine is ready to join the alliance.

As noted in the Kremlin, Ukraine's continuing aspiration to join NATO poses an immediate threat to Russia.

The White House recalled that in order to join NATO, Ukraine must fulfill a number of conditions.

The German Ambassador to Kiev, in turn, stressed that the conflict in Donbass is an obstacle to Ukraine's entry into the organization.
