WHO: Global coronavirus cases and deaths are declining

The World Health Organization announced today, Wednesday, that the number of weekly infections and deaths caused by the Corona virus globally, continued to decline during the past week.

More than 3.6 million infections and just under 60,000 deaths were recorded between September 13 and 19.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases reported globally to about 228 million, the organization said.

Significant decreases in cases were recorded in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Asia regions.

Worldwide deaths are down 7% compared to the previous week.

The World Health Organization said that more than 4.6 million people worldwide have died so far after contracting corona during the pandemic.
