On September 21, local time, the US government stated that the import of Japanese-produced food would be resumed and the ban on 14 counties including Fukushima, Japan, which was previously the subject of food import restrictions, would be lifted.

  On September 22, Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries stated that due to the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, the United States had banned the import of food from 14 Japanese counties including Fukushima Prefecture.

Involving Fukushima rice and log shiitake mushrooms from all over the world, there are 100 varieties in total.

In particular, the restrictions on up to 35 types of beef produced in Fukushima Prefecture, including milk beef, are the most stringent.
