“The Moscow City Court dismissed Spiegel's complaint against the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow to extend the measure of restraint in the form of detention.

He remains in custody until November 20, ”TASS quoted a statement.

Earlier, a member of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission Olga Druzhinina told RT that Spiegel needs urgent open-heart surgery to replace the aortic valve.

At the end of March, it became known about the detention of the former governor of the Penza region, Ivan Belozertsev, in the case of a bribe in the amount of more than 31 million rubles.

A criminal case was initiated against Belozertsev, head of the BIOTEK group of pharmaceutical companies, Boris Shpigel, and others.

They were later arrested.

The former governor's defense admits that he received 20 million rubles from Spiegel, but claims that the money was intended for the election campaign.
