60 percent of children use bicycle helmets today, while the figure in 2013 was 55 percent.
The children's use of a bicycle helmet in the county is one of the best results in the country according to the latest survey.
- It is great, it goes so fast once the accident has occurred so it is important to protect yourself, says Nässjö resident Leif Andersson.
From last year's survey, bicycle helmet use in adults has increased by four percentage points, while in children it has increased by one percentage point, the traffic safety organization NTF's latest survey shows.
- Every year that goes in the right direction is good, but the national goal is 80 percent so we are not satisfied yet, says Daniel Kvarnström, operations manager at NTF Jönköping.
Important to spread information
Daniel Kvarnström says that it is a lot about talking about the benefits of using a bicycle helmet and spreading information about the risks.
- I think that manufacturers of bicycle helmets have contributed a lot to the fact that there has been an increase among both children and adults.
There are so many different alternatives today, for example the new inflatable helmets, says Daniel Kvarnström.
