Eight dead in covid-19 at a nursing home in Överkalix - seven vaccinated

The municipality confirms that the covid infection remains in special housing for the elderly in Överkalix.

Since the first established case on the third of September, 17 users have been found infected.

"Unfortunately, eight of them have died."

Eleven staff in the affected operations have also been found with covid-19, the municipality writes in a press release.

Seven were fully vaccinated

According to the information that the municipality has, all infected users, except one, have agreed to covid vaccine.

They must also have received two syringes.

- We know that the willingness to vaccinate among the staff has been very good, but as an employer we can not demand information about how individual employees have chosen to do.

We urge relatives to continue to avoid visiting our special accommodation for the elderly, writes Anna Widén.
