It was on June 10 that the man got behind the wheel and drove south on the E22.

The problem is that the 50-year-old drives at up to 170 kilometers per hour and that, according to the indictment, he is heavily intoxicated.

On the road, where there is a driving ban, he drives around a car with two vacant police employees.

During questioning, they tell how the man drives at high speed, loses control of the car and drives into the back of another car.

The other car then drives off, into the wire fence and then over to the opposite lane.

A woman in the hit car was taken by ambulance to the emergency room in Västervik, but must have survived without serious injuries.

- A colossally unpleasant traffic accident, says prosecutor Anders Månsson to Barometern who first wrote about the incident.

"Significant danger"

It is not clear what the prosecutor will demand for punishment, but Anders Månsson tells SVT that the incident entailed a significant danger to road safety and therefore a more severe punishment than normal may be relevant.

- But it was a blessing that she did not meet a car when she was thrown over.

It had more limited consequences than it could have had, says chamber prosecutor Anders Månsson to SVT.

In the suspect's car, the police find two bottles of vodka, one of which has been opened, and an empty can of strong beer.

A blood test shows that he has an alcohol concentration of 1.59 per mille.

Nu åtalas mannen alltså för grovt rattfylleri. Han har i förhör erkänt gärningen, och säger sig vara mycket ångerfull.
